Myanmar foreign /domestic debt became Ks.70,434 billion in the financial year 2023-2024 and the amount was more than previous financial years, according to data from 2024-2025 financial year budget. This amount is 50.24 % of Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

In observing the ratio of foreign/domestic debt,the amountof foreign/domestic debt in 2018-2019 financil year was more than Ks.40,000 billion and the ratio was 38.71%. In 2019-2020 financial year, the amount of foreign/domestic debt was more than Ks. 47,000 billion and the ratio was 42.24%. in 2020- 2021 financial year the amount of foreign/domestic debt was more than Ks.58,000 billion and the ratio was 53.83%.

In six month of 2021-2022 financial year, foreign/domestic debt was more than Ks. 59,000 billion and ratio in GDP was 52.71%. In 2022-2023 financial year, foreign/domestic debt was more than Ks. 69,000 billion and ratio in GDP was 52.71%.
Myanmar borrowed foreign loans mostly from IDA , IMF , ADB, AIF, Japan, China, Korea, Poland, India, Italy and Thailand.
