Chinese traders and businessmen can come and invest in power generation projects, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein said at the ceremony to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Myanmar-China Overseas Business Federation held at Lotte Hotel in Yangon on March 1.
As the government is also promoting electricity supply in the country, investments in electricity supply are welcomed, he said, urging Chinese businessmen to engage in practical cooperation.
The Chairman of the Myanmar-China Overseas Entrepreneurs Federation and Chairman of the Myanmar-China Federation of Chambers of Commerce U Ai Tun also delivered speeches at the ceremony, and Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein presented a medal of honor to U Ai Tun.
The Myanmar-China Overseas Entrepreneurs Federation was established in 2015 with 100 Myanmar-China overseas business organizations.
The Federation was established to promote trade and economic cooperation between Myanmar and China and to strengthen the friendship, trade and communication between the two countries.
