The Central Bank of Myanmar announced that it sold more US dollars, Chinese yuan and Thai baht on February 20. It was made through the FX Market Online Trading Platform which includes the Central Bank, AD-licensed banks and exporters and importers.
According to the announcement, the Central Bank sold more than 50,000 US dollars at an exchange rate of 3,593 kyats per dollar, 600,000 yuan at the rate of 542 kyats per yuan and more than 900,000 baht at the rate of 131.50 kyats per baht.

It is learnt that the move may make the exchange rates lower in the foreign exchange market, which will be convenient for exporters and importers.
The Central Bank sold more than 900,000 yuan and more than one1 million baht on February 17 and on nearly one million yuan and one million baht on February 18.
