The Central Bank of Myanmar announced on August 1 that it has taken further action against 93 people who play foreign currency and engage in Hundi business and trading and exchanging illegal digital currencies.
A notice has been issued stating that trading and exchanging illegal digital currencies, playing in foreign currency and operating hundi business without a valid license will be prosecuted in accordance with the provisions of the Anti-Money Laundering Law and the Financial Institutions Law.
After this announcement, 39 operators who were playing foreign currency and engaged in hundi business have been identified and taken action, and now another 93 operators have been identified and their bank accounts and pay accounts have been temporarily suspended.
And 194 money changers have revoked their business licenses, according to the statement of The Central Bank of Myanmar on August 1.
