STORY: Argentina’s Lionel Messi took part in a training session in Houston, Texas, on Wednesday (July 3) ahead of their Copa America quarter-final against Ecuador.
Earlier in the day, coach Lionel Scaloni revealed that captain Messi remains a doubt for the clash at Houston’s NRG Stadium.
Messi, who suffered a right hamstring injury in the match against Chile, did not play in the final group game against Peru, which Scaloni also missed after being given a one-match ban by CONMEBOL.
Defending champions Argentina are bidding to win a record 16th Copa America and will face Ecuador, who booked their place in the quarter-finals by finishing second in Group B after a 0-0 draw with Mexico.
