The Myanmar Rice Federation (MRF) has set reference price for January in this year and the price of coarse rice and refined rice are not changed from the previous month. The reference prices for January is within the range from at least Ks.7,3000 to Ks.15,0000 per sack based on kind of rice.
The price of coarse rice such as: Aemahta, Ngasein,Sinthukha, Theehtut Yin, Yatanatoe, Ngasein Yakyaw, Kayinma, Tunpu is from Ks.7,3000 to Ks. 85,000 per sack, the price of Pawsan gruop rice such as Ayeyawady Pawsan, Khunni, Pawkwe, Baykyar and Kyarpyan is from Ks.95,000 to Ks.135,000 per sack and the price of Shwebo Pawsan is from Ks. 130,000 to Ks.150,000 per sack .
The statement mentioned not to sell more than eight percent of the reference price in the market. Furthermore, it has been notified to comply with monthly reference prices, rule and regulation in selling rice and actions will be taken against those who is raising the price, selling lower standard goods and not complying with the rules and regulations under Section (5) of The Essential Supplies And Services Law.
