Memorandum of Agreements (MoAs) on the establishment of new jetties and goods handling systems at Thilawa Port Terminal and Sule Jetty in Yangon was signed between Myanmar China Harbour Engineering (MCHEC) and the relevant associations on January 2 , according to the Ministry of Transport and Communications.
The signing ceremony was held at Novotel Hotel in Yangon and attended by State Administration Council Member Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Transport and Communications General Mya Tun Oo .
The Memorandum of Agreements (MoAs) was signed to establish of new jetties for loading and unloading processes of crops and oil products at Wharf Nos 27, 28 and 29 in the Thilawa Port Terminal area and installation of sheltered conveying systems at Warehouses 1, 2 and 3 Sule Jetty.
MoAs were inked for the construction of an edible oil jetty at Thilawa Wharf 27 between Myanmar Edible Oil Industrial Public Company Limited (MEICO) and Myanmar China Harbour Engineering (MCHEC), for the construction of a crop jetty at Wharf 28 between the Myanmar Agribusiness Public Company Limited (MAPCO) and MCHEC, a crop jetty at Wharf 29 between the Myanma Agricultural and General Development Public Limited (MAGDPL) and MCHEC, and the installation of sheltered conveyer systems at Sule Warehouses 1, 2, 3, 4 and jetties between Myanmar Rice Federation (MRF) and MCHEC. The projects’ initial investment totals US$61 million.The initial investments for the projects totals US$61 million.
