The villagers in Magwe Region together with agricultural works raise CP chickens making business contacts with companies, said the poultry breeders in Magwe Township.
Formerly, CP breeders did their business on a small scale but they encountered excessive losses because of poultry disease, changes in market, difficulties in accessing poultry feed. Therefore, they have linked companies in breeding their chicken. In doing so, they earn money for hiring farms and for charges for their labour . It takes 45 days to breed a batch of poultry and produces five batched a year.
Breeding poultry linking with a company is convenient and earns from Ks.30,00,000 to Ks. 40,00,000 from one batch , said U Pan Saing, an owner of a poultry farm at Kantharlay village, Magwe Township. CP breeder experienced excessive deaths of chicken because of heat in summer and they need to keep their chicken warm in winter. Currently, there are 15 CP Poultry breeders in Magwe Township.
