The average inflation rate for the fiscal year of 2024-2025 is expected to be 21.2 percent, the budget for 2024-2025 said. According to the expectation in the budget, as the average inflation rate for the 2023-2024 fiscal year was expected to be 21.2 percent, the inflation rate in this fiscal year is expected to drop compared to last year.
Moreover, it is mentioned in the budget that the gross domestic product (GDP) for 2024-2025 fiscal year was estimated to be over 150,000 billion kyats with an expectation of 3.8 percent economic growth rate. Myanmar’s economic growth is expected to be 1.9 percent in the agricultural sector, 3.5 percent in the industrial sector and 5 percent in the services sector, the budget said.
Union Minister for Planning and Finance U Win Shein has said that the economic growth rate in the first six months of this fiscal year from April to September was 2.4 percent.
