E-Choice Taxi Co., Ltd. , a public company, is planning to operate EV taxis service in Yangon, an official of the company said. He said that the company has a plan to launch the business with a pilot project using 100 EV taxis and of them, 18 EVs have arrived here so far for the project.
Presently, registration of the EV vehicles that arrived from abroad are being carried out at the Road Transport Administration Department and applying for operating licenses as well. After doing so, it is planned to launch the business in the last week of December this year or the first week of January next year, the company’s official said.
The company will run its EV Taxi at the fares set by the Yangon Region Transport Authority. Currently, the Grab EV Taxi company has been operating its EV taxi service from Yangon International Airport to parts of Yangon City as well as in Nay Pyi Taw and Mandalay.
