The Myanmar Embassy in Bangkok announced that it would send a mobile team to renew the passport and certificate of identity (CI ) of Myanmar workers working at factories and construction sites in Thailand.
It is learnt that Myanmar workers needed to renew their passports and Cis for a two-year temporary stay and work permit in Thailand. According to the Myanmar Embassy’s announcement, if the number of people, who will renew passports, at factories, workshops and worksites are 400 or more people, a mobile team will be sent to those places with the aim of ensuring that the business operations will not stop and that the workers’ daily wages will not be lost.
The list of workers needs to be submitted to the Myanmar Embassy or Myanmar Consulate starting December 9, along with complete prescribed forms and recommendation letters from their workplaces’ HR Managers, the announcement said.
In the announcement, it is also mentioned that the embassy would keep informed of the renewal process for CI and urged Myanmar workers at factories, workshops and construction sites to continue to inform HR managers at their workplaces of the announcement.
