In Magway Region, the prices of vegetables such as eggplant, cauliflower, cabbage, onion, egg, and mustard were lower than that of their first ones and the trading is slow, said the greengrocers. Locally produced vegetables are sold in Magway and other towns and now as the supply of vegetable is high and the price is falling.
In Magway Region, the production of vegetables in the places along the west of Ayayawaddy such as Minbu, Sagu and Sinbyukyun is high until March. In current year, the prices of vegetable are falling comparing to previous year and tomato is the fastest in falling in price. At the time of local produce is no longer available, they have to buy and sell it from Shan State.
