The Onion fields along the Yin Stream are likely to have good yields due to favourable weather in this year, according to local onion farmers in the area. Farmers living along the Yin Stream mainly grow potato and onion along the Yin Stream in the open season.
In this year, potato was not grown due to high price of small potato tuber and only onion was grown.
In the recent years, there used to experience raining at the beginning of onion growing season. In this year, the there would be good yield because the weather was favourable and cool, predicted U Soe Tint, an onion farmer from Aigyigone Village, Magway Township.
Onion price in Magway market is Ks.2000 per viss and will be Ks.1500 in the middle of March when the onion is abundant.
