Of the 200 billion kyats reimbursed as COVID-19 loans, 118 billion kyats have been repaid to the State, and 82 billion kyats remain to be repaid, Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Dr. Kan Zaw said.

He made these remarks at a meeting of the Working Committee to Address the Economic Impacts of COVID-19 held on January 16. The attendees to the meeting discussed recollection of 118 billion kyats out of the 200 billion kyats of COVID-19 loans, status of the repayment to the State, the state of management of loans that are still being repaid and the loans that remain to be repaid.
In addition, drawn from the COVID-19 Fund, the loans reimbursed to the livestock sector including fish and shrimp farming and the loans to the sector of film, music, Thabin, press and media will expire in 2025. At the meeting, the attendees also discussed the matter to issue advance notices for repayment of the loans.
