Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing highlighted that it is necessary to fulfil and encourage the needs of foodstaff industries that are striving to maintain domestic self-sufficiency and export promotion. He said it at the Myanmar Foodstuff Development Forum (2025) held at the Myanmar International Convention Centre II in Nay Pyi Taw on January 19.

Senior General Min Aung Hlaing explained that the numbers of foodstaff industries consist 23887 in the registered private industries with the highest ratio of 49.63 percent and a total of 2,004 foodstuff industries have registered among other registered private industries in industrial zones. Furthermore, there are 49,025 domestically registered Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and the foodstaff industries constitute the largest with the number of 9,984.

Senior General Min Aung Hlaing emphasized that the foodstaff industry is significant and numerous within private industry sector and they should not be overlooked. They should be given serious attention. Therefore, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing also urged everyone to support and encourage businessmen who are working towards the economic progress of the nation and to collaborate in efforts to develop and advance the country’s industrial production sector.
