A fire broke out at three places in Mandalay in two days on May 4 and 5, according to the Myanmar Fire Brigade. On May 5, at about 11 a.m., a fire broke out at a gas shop on 84th Street, Tampawaddy Ward, Chanmyatharsi Township, Mandalay, destroying two houses and injuring two people, according to residents.
Similarly, on May 4, at about 3 p.m., a fire broke out on 23rd Street, between 87th Street and 88th Street in Aungmyaytharsan Township, Mandalay, and was extinguished by a Level 1 firefighting squad. In addition, on May 4, at about 2 p.m., a fire broke out on 76th Street, between 4th and 5th Street in Aungmyaytharsan Township, Mandalay, according to the Myanmar Fire Brigade.
Mandalay residents said that the frequent fires in Mandalay are due to the high temperature and careless use of fire. On May 2, two fires broke out in Chanayethasan Township, Mandalay.
