More than 740 acres of sesame fields have been flooded due to recent continuous rains in Minbu (Saku) Township, Magway Region, according to the township farmland management committee.
The sesame fields that were flooded were in Khuntha, Gyikan, Shwechaung, Kyauksitpon, Kadee, Panlyar, Yepoke and Kalapa village tracts. These villages have 23 fields of edible oil crops including 677 acres of summer sesame and 67 acres of monsoon sesame, totaling 744 acres of sesame fields.

Chairman of Minbu District Farmland Management Committee District Administrator U Aye Lwin and officials inspected the flooded areas and coordinated with relevant departments to find remedial measures and means to replant crops in the fields with potential damage.
