Around a thousand earthquake-affected people are sheltering in the Thuudhamma Zayat north of Mandalay Palace Moat in the city of Mandalay.
The people who were originally temporarily sheltering on platforms by the moat have moved to the Thudhamma Zayat since April 5 evening due to weather conditions. Currently, around a thousand people from five wards are temporarily sheltering there.

The relevant ward administrative bodies are providing assistance to those sheltering in the Thudhamma Zayat, U Tin Maung Myint, the administrator of Ubokedaw Ward, Aungmyethazan Township.
Some earthquake-affected people temporarily sheltering in the Thudhamma Zayat said they wanted all to help them for long-term rehabilitation.
Donors have been donating water, food, and essential items to those sheltering there while the Ministry of Health has opened temporary clinics.
