A large number of people have visited the free medical treatment provided by the National TB Control Team (NTCT) and six hospitals in Yangon to the No. 4 Basic Education High School(BEHS) in Tamwe Township, Yangon. The free medical treatment started at 8 am on May 19.
The field treatment was carried out jointly by the Yangon General Hospital, the Central Women’s Hospital, the Yankin Children’s Hospital, the Eye Hospital, the Ear, Nose, and Throat Hospital, the Mental Health Hospital and the NTCT. Those who need long-term treatment will be transferred to the relevant hospitals, said Dr. Tint Khaing, Deputy Director of the Yangon General Hospital.
The medical treatment was provided by general practitioners, diabetes and hormone specialists, surgeons, orthopedic specialists, mental health specialists, dermatologists, pediatricians, ophthalmologists, ear, nose and throat specialists and services for obstetrics and gynecology were also provided.
Some of the people who have received medical treatment said that they would like to see more frequent field visits to the public. This is the second time that free medical treatment has been provided in Tamwe Township. In the first time, more than 1,400 people visited, and in the second time, more than 600 people visited until noon.
