The administrative capability plays a very important role in the Tatmadaw and if administration is weak, both combat capability and organizational capability will also suffer, therefore, among the three core capabilities, administrative capability is very important, said Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, General Ye Win Oo. He made these remarks during separate meetings with officers, Tatmadaw members, and their families from the Mongkhat, and Mongyang stations, Kengtung station on April 22 and 23.
Regarding administration, he emphasized that it is fundamental to the success of military operations, security, and training. He noted that Tatmadaw’s office functions are maintained through the effective operation of three pillars— General Staff, Adjutant and Quartermaster —and that military rules, regulations, orders, and directives must be followed. He added that these three functions should be balanced and well-managed, and that strong administrative control can effectively improve the welfare of officers, other ranks, and their families, said General Ye Win Oo.
He also said that weak administration can undermine unity, so maintaining discipline is crucial for good administration. Furthermore, as the Tatmadaw is an organization governed through by a tiered command structure, leadership is extremely important. Accurate and balanced reporting through the chain of command is essential, and reports should be submitted correctly and fairly, without bias. Responsible officials at every level must also carefully and properly handle the reports submitted by their subordinates and act upon them correctly, he added.
