Over 31 billion kyats worth of drugs were seized across Myanmar in the past week, according to the Myanmar Police Force. A joint team of members of the Drug Enforcement Division conducted inspections in regions and states from February 11 to 17, 2026, and seized 105 cases of drugs worth over 31.837 billion kyats.
During the operation, 117 men and 20 women were arrested and those arrested were charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.
In addition, the Tatmadaw, Myanmar Police Force, and the Departmental Joint Task Force have destroyed 10,634 acres of opium poppy plantations in collaboration with local militia groups and local ethnic groups in the southern and eastern areas of Shan State between November 29, 2025, and February 17, 2026, according to the Myanmar Police Force.
