Acting President Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Senior General Min Aung Hlaing said that the Hluttaw session will be convened within the third week of coming March.He made the remark during a meeting with Mr Sergei Shoigu, Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, at the Credentials Hall of the Office of the National Defence and Security Council on February 3.
During the meeting, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing said that the visit of the distinguished guest at a time when Myanmar has successfully held the election is significant and profound, and expressed confidence that during the visit, the friendship and cooperation between the two countries can be further enhanced.
After that, the Secretary of the Security Council of Russia said that he would like to convey and present a message of congratulations sent by President Vladimir Putin of Russia on the successful holding of the multiparty democratic general election in Myanmar. He further noted that Russia recognizes Myanmar’s successful holding of the election amidst difficulties, and that cooperation in various sectors between the two countries will continue to be enhanced.
After that, they exchanged views on the situation that during the multi-party democracy general election in Myanmar, international election observer teams including Russia came and observed the active participation of the people in voting, and that the election was held as a free and fair election. They also discussed on the situation of further cooperation in security matters including Cyber Security and Information Security between the two countries, and the situation of enhancing cooperation in economic and trade sectors, electric power generation sector, space technology development sector and education sector.
After the meeting, Acting President Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission and Secretary of the Security Council of Russia exchanged commemorative gifts and took documentary photos.The meeting was attended by the Acting President Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission together with Commission Secretary General Ye Win Oo, Union Ministers and officials. The Secretary of the Russian Security Council was accompanied by Mr Iskander Azizov, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Myanmar, and officials of the Russian Government.
