Myanmar government has agreed to the proposal of the Chinese government to appoint Ms. Ma Jia as the ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Myanmar, who has been delegated special powers, according to reports in the state-run newspaper on August 12.
Ms. Ma Jia was born in Yongji City, Shaanxi Province, China in November 1967 and she is a graduated.
She started working in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China in 1991, held various positions and responsibilities at the headquarters and Chinese embassies abroad, according to the statement.
She also served as an ambassador and third secretary at the Asian Affairs Department of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 1992 to 1995, as third secretary and second secretary from 1998 to 2001 and as deputy director from 2005 to 2010.
According to statement, she served as third secretary at the Chinese Embassy in Yangon, as Deputy Secretary at the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan, as Deputy Secretary at the Chinese Embassy in Japan, from 2001 to 2003, as First Secretary at the Chinese Embassy in Singapore from 2003 to 2005, as the chief of staff at the Chinese embassy based in Great Britain and Ireland from 2010 to 2013, as the Consul General at the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia from 2013 to 2018.
In Addition, Ms. Ma Ji also served as the deputy mayor of Sansha City, Hainan Province, from 2018 to 2019 and as a consul and ambassador at the Chinese Embassy in India from 2019 to today.
