Over 100 election observers from embassies based in Myanmar are monitoring the second phase of the multi-party democratic general election, said Maj. Gen. Zaw Min Htun, head of the National Defense and Security Council Information Team.
This was a response to a question from One News regarding the holding of the second phrase of the election and the status of the people’s voting.
International election observers have reported that the second phase of the multi-party democratic general election in Myanmar has been incredibly successful, and that the voting machines and voting process have been transparent, said Maj. Gen. Zaw Min Htun. (Interview)
International observers are monitoring the second phase of the multi-party democratic general election in major cities such as Yangon, Mandalay, and Mawlamyine.
The second phase of the multi-party democratic general election is being held on January 11, in 100 townships across the country since the morning, and in Yangon Region, 1171 polling stations are open in 16 townships.
The Acting President and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Senior General Min Aung Hlaing visited polling stations in some townships in Yangon Region where the second phase of the election is being held on the morning of January 11.
