To promote economic and investment cooperation between Myanmar and Belarus, the two chambers of commerce and industry (UMFCCI) and the BelCCI jointly held the Myanmar-Belarus Business Forum on the morning of November 27 at the LOTTE Hotel in Yangon.
The event was attended by Union Ministers of Myanmar, the Chief Minister of Yangon Region, and the Chairman of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, and on the Belarusian side, led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Chairman of the State Small and Medium Enterprises, the Minister of Agriculture, the Minister of Industry, the Minister of Health, the Ambassador of the Belarusian Embassy in Myanmar, and senior officials from relevant ministries, as well as businessmen from both countries, with a total of 130 participants.
In the forum, the two sides discussed the strategic direction and cooperation of the heads of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, the Roadmap for Promoting Myanmar-Belarus Development Cooperation (2026-2028), Myanmar’s investment framework, investment opportunities in various sectors that could be used for cooperation between the two countries, and the conditions for connecting to the EAEU market.
They also discussed ways to closely cooperate on issues such as banking and finance, transportation, agro-based manufacturing, health services, and investment promotion between the two countries, and Myanmar’s hosting of the third joint committee coordination meeting.
At the event, they also signed an agreement on the Roadmap for Promoting Myanmar-Belarus Development Cooperation (2026-2028) and the second meeting of the Myanmar-Belarus Joint Committee on Trade and Economic Cooperation.
