New Japanese steel reinforcing technology that can withstand earthquakes has been used in the construction of high-rise buildings in Myanmar, according to Myanmar Fuso Technology Company.
Myanmar has been allowed to use Japanese steel reinforcing technology since 2019. Only those who have completed written and practical training in Japan and obtained certificates have been permitted to work.
Regarding the earthquake-resistant Japanese steel reinforcing technology, Myanmar Fuso Technology Company’s Managing Director, U Pyi Son Hein, said the following.
This technology has been used in new building construction sites, with more than 60,000 steel-reinforced steel in 2019, more than 90,000 steel-reinforced steel in 2020, and more than 200,000 steel-reinforced steel in 2024 to date. This technology is cheaper than regular steel-reinforced steel and is suitable for Myanmar, so it should be used, U Pyi Son Hein said.
In 2017, Myanmar held several discussions to obtain the new Japanese steel wire technology, and since Myanmar is located in an earthquake zone, Japan officially granted permission to use the technology.
The only two countries in Southeast Asia that have officially granted permission to use the steel wire technology are Myanmar and Vietnam, according to Myanmar Fuso Technology Company.
