Kelechi Iheanacho has become Sevilla fifth signing of the summer. He signs on a two-year deal and arrives as a free agent, having spent last season at Leicester City. The 27-year-old Nigerian striker, who began his career in 2014 in his homeland, made the move to Europe the following season with Manchester City, initially playing in the English club’s youth teams. He went on to make 64 appearances for the City first team, scoring 21 goals and providing seven assists over the next two seasons.
In 2017, Iheanacho joined Leicester City going on to play a total of 232 games in all competitions, with 61 goals and 34 assists up until the 2023/24 season.
Our new striker has also played a total of 19 games in European competition, with seven games in the Champions League, another 11 in the UEFA Europa League and one in the Conference League. For Nigeria, he has made 55 appearances and scored 19 goals to date. His greatest achievement came in 2017 when he won the Under-17 World Cup.
