The Union Election Commission announced on October 15 that the campaigning period for the general elections to be on December 28, will be allowed to hold 60 days starting 2025 October 28 on December 26.
Hluttaw candidates and political parties contesting the general election must conduct their election-related rallies and campaigns in accordance with the provisions of the relevant Hluttaw election rules to ensure free, fair and peaceful elections. 5023 political parties and independent Hluttaw candidates have registered to contest the 2025 general election.
