Due to heavy rains and floods, more than 600 flood evacuation centers have been opened in 10 regions and states, and more than 200,000 people have been affected by the floods, according to Ministry of Social Welfare Relief and Resettlement.
In Kachin State, Karen State, Mon State, Sagaing Region, Taninthari Region, Bago Region, Magway Region, Mandalay Region, Yangon Region and Ayeyarwaddy Region, more than 50,000 households, more than 200,000 people were affected by floods, until July 29.
More than 4,600,000 kyats have been provided, including the cost of rice, food and relief materials, for the households that have affected the flood, the authorized person of ministry said.
In the current situation, there is a continuous increase in rainfall throughout the country and the people who have been displaced by the floods are still living in the flood evacuation camps.
And the necessary support is also being provided to affected people.
