Bayern Munich presented their new signing Joao Palhinha at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday (July 30).
The Portuguese midfielder joined Bayern from English side Fulham on a four-year contract, the Bundesliga club announced on July 11.
“It’s a dream – a dream come true,” Palhinha said at a press conference which marked his formal unveiling. “It’s a pleasure to share the dressing room with so many top players,” he added.
Palhinha had been close to joining Bayern in 2023 but the transfer fell through on the deadline day.
The player admitted that he didn’t expect that Bayern would reach out to him again. “It was a big disappointment,” he said about the failed transfer. But it then turned into a “big moment of pride” for him and his family when the club had contacted the 29-year-old with yet another offer to join the team.
