A foundation-laying ceremony for the Myanmar-China Friendship shopping mall was held in Shweminwon Market, Sagaing, On September 7. This Shweminwon Market Building is a project jointly donated by the Chinese Embassy to Myanmar and the Chi¬na Enterprises Chamber of Commerce in Myanmar (CECCM). The foundation-laying ceremony was attended by Sagaing Region Chief Minister U Myat Kyaw, Chargé d’affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar Ms Cao Jing, and officials from the CECCM in Myanmar.
At the ceremony, Chargé d’affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar Ms Cao Jing, said that the China-Myanmar Friendship Market is a new result of China-Myanmar cooperation in post-earthquake reconstruction and is a practical proof of the continued implementation of Swe Myo Pauk Phaw fraternal friendship in the new era. She said that it will effectively improve the shopping conditions of the people and help them return to normal life as soon as possible, and support the social and development of the neighborhood.
Then, Sagaing Region Chief Minister U Myat Kyaw thanked China for the donation. He said that the China-Myanmar Friendship Market is an important livelihood project, serving 5 neighborhoods and benefiting more than 12,000 residents, and helping to improve the quality of life of the people.
Then, Chargé d’affaires of the Chinese Embassy Ms Cao Jing visited the earthquake disaster relief camp and Myoma Market in Sagaing City to observe the post-earthquake rehabilitation, distribution of relief supplies, and the living conditions of the people.
