The movie “Dead to Rights”, which is about China’s war of resistance against Japan, has been watched by many people in China this year, and has earned over 2 billion yuan in box office revenue as of August 29.
On August 30, the China Cultural Center in Yangon held a video exhibition to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory of the World Anti-Fascist War, and screened a series of films including the trailer of “Dead to Rights”, as well as documentary films about the war of resistance against Japan, including the “Great Wall”.
The documentary films about the war of resistance against Japan contain true historical background moments and stories that are worthy of praise and heroism, said Dr. Zheng Zhihong, the Minister-Counsellor of Chinese embassy in Myanmar.
Small countries that fell under colonial and fascist rule during World War II are still suffering the consequences of World War II, imperialism, and fascism, and they are still struggling hard for peace and development, said U Zay Yar, Deputy Director-General of the Media Development Department of the Ministry of Information.
In terms of the number of casualties from World War II, China stood second to suffer the most among the countries in the world.
China Media Group reporter May Lin said that the documentary videos shown at the 80th anniversary video exhibition clearly presented historical evidence. (Interview)
