When exhibiting at the world’s largest trade fairs, the international market is more interested in highly-qualified, beautifully designed and innovative “Made In Myanmar” home decor and handicrafts, said Mr. Stephan Kurzawski, Senior Vice President of Consumer Good, Automotive and Textile Show and Sales of Messe Frankfurt, Germany.
Mr. Stephan Kurzawski, who arrived in Myanmar from Germany at the invitation of Messe Frankfurt’s Myanmar representative Su Shwe Nadi Trading & Consultancy, made the statement at a Press Conference & Networking Event held at Lotte Hotel in Yangon to meet with Myanmar businessmen.
Mr. Stephan Kurzawski said that more and more companies are exhibiting Myanmar home decor, household appliances, technology and handicrafts at world craft fairs. By exhibiting at such international fairs, they can directly sell their products in the international market and build mutual trust with international buyers, said Daw Thet Su Hlaing, Managing Director of Su Shwe Nadi Trading & Consultancy.
Daw Thet Su Hlaing also said that companies participating in international trade fairs need to be able to produce and deliver products needed by foreign buyers on time and produce high-quality products.
Some companies cannot cover the costs of participating in international trade fairs because the general costs such as travel expenses and booth rental fees are high. Three companies, including the Myanmar Garment Manufacturers Association, will exhibit at the trade fair to be held in Paris, France in September this year, and companies producing rattan and bamboo home decoration products will exhibit at the trade fair to be held in Frankfurt, Germany in February 2026.
