The State Funeral of Interim President U Myint Swe was held in the afternoon on August 11 with the attendance of Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and President (Retired) U Thein Sein.
The State Funeral took place at the Nyein Aye Zayat at the Military Hospital in Nay Pyi Taw and the Military Cemetery (Nay Pyi Taw).
The State Funeral was also attended by Sayadaws led by the Secretary of State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Sayadaw Bhaddanta Vaselabhivamsa, President(Retired) U Thein Sein, Vice Presidents(Retired) Thiha Thura Tin Aung Myint Oo and U Nyan Tun, Vice Chairman of the Commission Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife Daw Than Than Nwe, Primiister U Nyo Saw and members of the Commission, union-level dignitaries and the wife of late Pro Tem President U Myint Swe and family members.
First, the body of Pro Tem President U Myint Swe was carried to the funeral procession area, and President (retd) U Thein Sein, Vice Presidents (retd) Thiha Thura Tin Aung Myint Oo and U Nyan Tun, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services Lt. Gen. Soe Win, members of the commission, and members of the family of Acting President U Myint Swe paid their respects.

Then, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing arrived at the Nyein Aye Zayat, where the State Funeral will be held, paid his respects to the body prepared in the Zayat and expressed his heartfelt support to the wife and family members of the late Pro Tem President U Myint Swe.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services and the attendees to the State Funeral received the Five Precepts from the Secretary of State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee, and the wife and family members of the late Pro Tem President U Myint Swe offered offerings to the Sanghas, listened to the sermon from the Secretary of State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee and shared merits gained.
Then, eight union ministers conveyed the body of the Pro Tem President to an artillery carriage to send it to the Tatmadaw Military Cemetery (Nay Pyi Taw). Meanwhile, the the Guard of Honour saluted the remains and conducted other funeral conveyance procedures.
Along the route of the State Funeral procession, members of the military (Army, Navy, and Air) and their families, departmental employees and the people paid their respects and bowed in token of their condolences.

The State Funeral convoy then arrived at the Tatmadaw MilitaryCemetery (Nay Pyi Taw), and military parade protocol was conducted including reading out the proclamation, sounding the bugle in tribute and placing the body in the coffin. The family members of late Pro Tem President paid their last respects before cremating the body.
The urn containing the ashes was conveyed by Captain Kyaw Phone Myint (Retd), son of late Pro Tem President U Myint Swe, together with family members to the venue where the tomb will be built.
The Chairman, Vice Chairman and members of the State Funeral Organizing Leading Committee, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services and the attendees watched the urn being placed in the tomb and the tomb being closed. After that, the family members paid their last respects to the tomb of Pro Tem President U Myint Swe.
