Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win visited Nawnghkio, Shan State (North), on July 21 and met the victorious officers and other ranks, according to the statement released by the Information Team of the State Administration Council.
Vice-Senior General Soe Win attended a ceremony to honor the victorious officers and other ranks held at the township hall with Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung, senior military officers of Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), deputy ministers, and officials.
At the ceremony, Vice-Senior General Soe Win gave instructions saying that security forces should continue to take area security and control measures with added momentum for ensuring a peaceful life and working environment and socio-economic development for the people. Next, Vice-Senior General Soe Win and Lt-Gen Nai Naing Oo of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) pinned new insignia onto the uniform of the soldiers, who were promoted at the battle field for their brilliant efforts in the battleground.
They then visited the temporary hospital jointly opened by the Tatmadaw and the Ministry of Health at the Myanan Tawwin Hall in Nawnghkio and presented cash assistance to local residents receiving medical treatment at the hospital and cash awards to health staff.
Mobile treatment vehicles will arrive soon there to provide emergency medical services. In addition, a 15-year-old patient who was being treated for malaria at the temporary hospital and his family members were taken by helicopter to PyinOoLwin for further treatment, the statement said.
