The domestic construction industry is still facing a shortage of skilled workers, according to the community of construction industry.
Most construction companies usually have less operations during the rainy season, but since reconstruction work is being carried out after the powerful earthquake, almost every construction company has received job contracts this year.
In such a situation, due to the shortage of workers, the construction companies have to pay workers more than the market rate, and they are also working to find ways to find workers with on-the-job training programmes by teaching unskilled workers on the job, U Aye Lin, Joint Secretary General-3 of the Myanmar Construction Entrepreneurs Federation, said.
It is reported that as departmental organizations have set prices and standards for construction equipment for reconstruction work in earthquake-affected areas, construction entrepreneurs can expect to see less losses.
