The Mandalay Yunnan Buddhist Temple, Myanmar-born Chinese community, and volunteers donated rice, cooking oil, and beans to 11,100 earthquake-affected monks and nuns from 7 townships in Mandalay Region, on June 29. The donation ceremony was held at the Yatana Manaung Pagoda in Chan Aye Tha San Township, Thein Than Yadana Sasana Beikman in Wakhingone Pagoda precinct.

The ceremony was attended by 55 monks and 10 nuns led by the Secretary of Mandalay Region Sangha Nayaka Committee , Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung, officials from the regional government, Ms. Gao Fang, Chinese Consul General in Mandalay, donors, and invited guests. Those attending the ceremony received the five precepts from the Secretary Sayadaw, and listened to the sermons recited by the monks.
After that, donations including rice, cooking oil, and gram as well as the cash for the sundry needs of Sangha for 11,100 monks and nuns from 7 townships in Mandalay Region were given to 55 monks and 10 nuns.
