Chauk reached a temperature of 44.3 degrees Celsius in the last 24 hours, ranking 2nd on the list of the world’s hottest cities. Magway reached a temperature of 43.2 degrees Celsius in the last 24 hours, ranking 13th on the list.

The 15 hottest cities in the world, announced on March 17, include two cities in Myanmar: Chauk and Magway with other 13 cities from Africa countries such as Niger, Mali, Burkina Faso, Togo, Cameroon, Senegal. The world’s leading weather agencies have predicted that temperatures in Myanmar could rise higher this year than last year, and the Ministry of Health has issued a notification to follow heatwave prevention warnings.
