Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing said that the efficiency of systematic reclamation of mechanized farmlands must be improved and continued across the country during a visit to inspect the implementation of agricultural and livestock projects in the townships of Zeyathiri and Tatkon in the Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory on March 12.
Although mechanized farmland reclamation is a capital-intensive project, it is a profitable one for both individuals and the State. It is necessary to educate farmers about the benefits of mechanized farmland reclamation, and tasks on systematic mechanized farmland reclamation and land preparation with the use of machinery being carried are to ensure systematic farmlands for long-term benefit, the Senior General said.
In addition, the newly developed mechanized farmlands should be made a model, and agricultural production needs to be systematically recorded. As the country has a large rural population and mainly carries out agriculture and livestock activities, the socio-economic life of the rural people is to be improved, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing said.
