A number of agreements and memorandums of understanding including an MoU on cooperation in the field of nuclear and radiation safety regulations for the peaceful use of atomic energy were signed between Myanmar and Russia. The signing ceremony was held at the Kremlin Palace in Moscow, Russian Federation, at 7 p.m. local time on March 4.
The MoUs signed include agreements on mutual recognition of qualifications and academic degrees, customs matters, health, cooperation in the sectors of culture and sports, cooperation in the field of nuclear and radiation safety regulations for the peaceful use of atomic energy, economic and technical cooperation in geological survey and mineral exploration, cooperation in the exploration and use of outer space for peaceful purposes. The joint statement on the successful completion of negotiations on the draft agreement on promotion and protection of investments between the two countries was also signed.
The agreements and memorandums of understanding were signed by the Myanmar Ambassador to the Russian Federation and relevant union ministers on Myanmar side and relevant ministers and officials of the Russian Federation on Russian side in the presence of Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
