Measures are being taken to be able to draft and enact an anti-human trafficking law to crack down on organized gangs of human traffickers, Chief of Myanmar Police Force Police Lt-Gen Win Zaw Moe said at a meeting of the Implementation Committee on Myanmar’s Five-Year Plan to Combat Human Trafficking held at the Myanmar Police Force Headquarters on February 28.

In the current situation, it is seen that human traffickers are committing crimes in groups to illegally transport people who want to migrate and work abroad from Myanmar. Therefore, a law drafting committee consisting of representatives from relevant ministries is being formed to draft and enact an anti-human trafficking law, Police Lt. Gen. Win Zaw Moe said.
In addition, it is learnt that work is underway to approve a draft law on preventing and combating human trafficking and a draft law on child rights as well as to amend the 1999 Overseas Employment Law.
