A drug-trafficking group involving in transporting drugs to Myanmar –Indian border was arrested in Mandalay on January 7, according to a statement released on January 15 by Central Committee on Drug Abuse Control.
Following interrogation on drug trafficking in Aungmyaythazan township, Mandalay Region, a combined team from the Anti-narcotics Police Force apprehended four men together with 5.94 kilogram of heroin at 4 pm on January 7. After following a chain of investigations, 30 bottles of Phensedyl were seized from a residence in Pyigyidagon ward, in Chanayethazan township at 4:30 pm on the same day.
In this campaign, two men who sold heroin to them were arrested near Lainli village in Pinlaung township, Shan State (South) and a man who sold bottles of Phensedyl was apprehended in Mintel Eten ward, Chanayethazan township, Mandalay Region, according the statement.
The heroin was transported to Tamu township at Myanmar-Indian border and a resident living there resold them. Furthermore, the bottles of Phensedyl from Kalay were carried and sold in Mandalay.
7 men arrested in the campaign were taken actions and further investigations were underway.
