The Union Election Commission (UEC) has successfully compiled the population lists provided by the Central Committee for Field Collection into the Central Voter List Management System (CVLMS), according to the message delivered by UEC Chairman U Ko Ko at a meeting on the process of filling in household numbers and verifying population lists at the ground level held on January 8 at the UEC Office’s Conference Hall.
The UEC is taking all steps to ensure the comprehensive preparedness of the upcoming election and the accuracy and completeness of the voter list is a critical component. The voter list is compiled based on data from the Ministry of Immigration and Population, using Form 66/6, along with population lists provided by the General Administration Department, according to Chairman U Ko Ko.
The Field Collection of voter list activities have conducted from January 1 to 31 and completed 86.7 percent of the whole country, according to the Ministry of Immigration and Population. There were 11.7 million households that were collected matching the current house hold form and 2.8 million households that were collected by free form, according to data from the Ministry.
According to the preliminary census in population and housing census released on December 31 20124, the total population including estimated population of areas that in unable to collect data was 51 millions.
