Myanmar-Korea Friendship (Dala) Bridge project is to be completed on schedule, Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant said during his visit to inspect the construction works of the project on December 22.
The Myanmar-Korea Friendship (Dala) Bridge will be the country’s highest vertical clearance bridge among the bridges built in Myanmar. Noise barriers are being installed on both sides of the bridge in order that the residential areas along the Yangon approach will be prevented from noises of motor vehicles using the bridge.
In addition, facilities — maintenance building for long-term durability of the bridge, toll station to collect fees for using the bridge, and weigh bridge to monitor and scale vehicles with extra weight – are being built in the project. The bridge project is being implemented at a cost of over US$157 million, and it is scheduled to complete it before the end of 2025, according to the Department of Bridge.
