The Norwegian Embassy in Yangon announced that Norway has donated 500,000 US dollars for the flood relief measures in Myanmar.
In partnership with the donors of United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS)’s multilateral fund mechanism, Norway provided this assistance in order that rescue operations will be carried out in the flood-affected communities as soon as possible.
The funds will be for relief supplies such as shelter, food, clean water, basic medicines, and emergency relief items. According to the announcement, the Norwegian Red Cross and its partners are delivering non-food items, cash for health services and food parcels to the flood-affected areas through the Myanmar Red Cross Society.
Besides, Norway is working together with partner organizations to assess the needs of flood-affected people and ensure that the aid is delivered as soon as possible.
