Flooding occurred in Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory due to heavy rains, and 19 people were killed in the floods as of 8:30 p.m on September 12 according to the statement released by the Myanmar Fire Brigade.
Search and rescue members of Myanmar Fire Services Department led by Director-General U Myat Thu carried out search and rescue operations and helped evacuate more than 3,600 people from 30 neighborhoods/villages in the flood-affected areas in Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory, according to the statement.
According to the initial report, the 19 people killed in the flooding include six men and 13 women, and the search and rescue operations are continuing.
Similarly, the Myanmar Fire Brigade has already announced that due to flooding in Mandalay Region, a total of 18 people, 17 in the Yamethin Township and one in Patheingyi Township, died in the floods as of September 12 morning.
